Dubai : Majid Al Futtaim recieves Green Star certification


The third ‘Green Star’ status has been given to Dubai’s leading shopping mall and retail center Majid Al Futtaim by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) scheme.

According to GRESB, Majid Al futtaim Properties has improved exponentially in development since 2013 and has progressed up to 78 per cent by this year, which makes this Middle East retail center the 6th best performing non-listed company in the retail sector in Asia.

Representatives have explained that the global recognition of its sustainability leadership clearly shows the successful implementation strategies of global sustainable business aiming to create prosperous communities, high performing assets and makes the property to achieve pioneering standards.

Ibrahim Al Zu’bi, the head of Sustainability at Majid Al Futtaim Properties said that Majid Al Futtaim applys international best practices to its project portfolio in a mission to enhance people’s lives through sustainable real estate and to transform the economic and social development of the region.

He stated that measurability was the key role to the success of any corporate undertaking, which includes the sustainability landscape. Majid Al Futtaim has already reached almost 75 percent of its 2018 sustainable goals and meets eight green building certification.
