Dubai : Empower receives LEED Gold status for its warehouses


The LEED Gold Certification under the category for ‘New Construction Rating System’ has been given to Empower Warehouse located in Al Qouz, Dubai, by the US Green Building Council. Besides demonstrating the company’s leadership, Empower Warehouse has transformed the building industry by setting a prime example in sustainable design.

According to Ahmand Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, in line with receiving the gold certification, the company is committed to obtaining the highest environmental standards for its services and operations. This award also reflects the effort in order to build  a green economy in the UAE under the slogan ‘a green economy for sustainable development’, supervised by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid AL Maktoum himself as vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shafar added that maintaining a sustainable environment is imperative in the company’s operations as they adopt local and international standards through global initiative participations and via implementing best systems in rationalizing energy consumption.

The company is in the making of designing a new green facility which features natural design, as well as reducing water and energy consumption to match with the future of Dubai’s sustainability goals. The building’s facilities will also generate renewable energy to decrease operational costs and enhance performance aiming to create a healthy and eco-friendly residential and working space.
