Dubai : Summertown Interior HQ receives Gold LEED certification


Summertown Interiors, UAE’s premier fit out contractor for green interior projects, has been awarded the Gold LEED for existing buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED Ebom) certification. The award was given for the company’s HQ office in Jebel Free Zone, Dubai.

Summertown Interiors claims that they embrace sustainability in every aspects of its business by adopting policies required to attain the certification, such as the sustainable purchasing of materials, equipment and consumables, and the monitoring and tracking of operations.

Marcosh Bish, the managing director of Summertown Interiors, said that “as a company that walks the talk, placing its clients, partners and the business community at the forefront of its operations, the next step for Summertown Interiors in achieving sustainability excellence was to go beyond the Gold LEED certification for interiors and develop an ever-evolving sustainable framework for the premises, operations and maintenance”.

Summertown Interiors is the only company in the industry, according to the USGBC and among a total of 11 companies in the UAE, to receive the award. As one of their sustainability efforts, the company has set a number of policies to document the organization’s operational procedures; detailing from operating hours to waste management.

Mario Senevirate, the managing director of Green Technologies companies, said that the company was honored to have supported Summertown Interiors it its journey to meet the LEED Ebom Gold Certification.

The LEED Ebom certification identifies and rewards current best practices and provide a framework for building to use less energy, water and natural resources; improve the indoor environment ; and uncover operating inefficiencies.
