Dubai : Green Building awards for RAK research company

The 2016 ‘Green Building Research Award’ has been given to Ras Al Khaimah Research and Innovation Center (Rakric) , a research centre under the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (Aurak), by the Emirates Green Building Council .

The Emirates Green Building Council awards recognize the companies across the MENA region which focus on the implementation of sustainable design, construction and buildings, and facility operation. This year, the awards ceremony was held at the AL Murooj Rotana Hotel Dubai.

Located in Jazeera Al Hamra, Rakric is a state-of-the-art research and development unit specialising in sustainable system solution development related to solar technologies.

With the outstanding example of world-class sustainability and the centre’s extraordinary research work in the renewable energy field, Rakric’s Solar Calorimeter Test facility caught the committee attention.

According to Professor Mousa Mohsen, the Director of Rakric and dean of the school of engineering at Aurak, the awards shows Aurak’s efforts and commitment to first rate research and development activities.

Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, the President of Aurak added that it’s been a pleasure that Aurak sustainable and and the development of the renewal energy work has been recognized all over the MENA region. He also added, towards the research program, that Aurak will keep to encourage this work and commitment.
