As the concept of green buildings quickly come into perspective in the UAE, a leading platform for wood and woodworking machinery in the Middle East called the Dubai WoodShow 2016 will focus extensively on the sustainability sector in this year’s three-day show starting 4th April 2016.

According to Dawood Al Shezawi, the chief executive of Strategic Marketing and Exhibition of WoodShow, the event will highlight sustainability-focused wood solutions to help manufacturers and wood associations to better understand the green building industry and follow green methods through reducing a building’s energy consumption and improving human health.

Another key focus will be on choosing building materials that exhibit positive environmental attributes, like wood, when used in construction.

Wood demand in the Gulf accounts for around 70 percent in construction. The importance of growing and consuming wood sustainably as a raw material will be emphasized at the show; such as how it is produced and used in a sustainable manner.

To further define wood’s benefits as a sustainable material and a renewable resource, international experts from around the world will be invited and give key insights on the topic and help the forest management industry understand the importance of following sustainable practices.
