It has been reported on the Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF) that half of Saudi Arabia’s green building projects are facing delays for not fulfilling criteria for the green building certification.

The Saudi Green Building Forum is aiming to address the environmental challenges by helping owners and contractors meet the certification after ensuring the buildings have met health, environmental and safety measures.

According to Faisal Alfadl, secretary – general of the Saudi Green Building Forum, about 50 percent of the total of 400 green buildings projects across the Kingdom have been delayed due to lack of clarity, and green building concept implementation to the owner, the consultant and the contractor.

SGBF have trained more than 1,500 people behind green building practices to keep promoting the culture of green building by taking the green building strategies in sustainability concept, human health and natural environment to increase the sustainability awareness in Saudi Arabia.
